I chose Safelite because of the convenience of having them come to me, but that was part of the downfall of this plan. On the date of the first visit, I received a call stating that my windshield hadn't been loaded into the van at the warehouse, so we'd have to reschedule. OK. We all make mistakes.
On the date of the second appointment, the technician showed up outside of the agreed-upon time window and then discovered he didn't have all the parts needed to do the install. So I would have to reschedule.
The day of the third appointment, the technician was able to install the windshield, but could not calibrate it even though he had tried 4 times. I'd have to take it in for calibration.
So on the fourth date, I took my car to the Safelite shop (exactly the thing I thought I was avoiding by choosing them) and they were able to calibrate my windshield.
In the future, if I needed to use them, I would just make an in-shop appointment and skip all the rest. But I would look at all of the competitors before I came back.

Last Wednesday, June 24, Safelite once again exceeded expectations: the quote and timeline were accurate. In fact, windshield replacement was completed earlier than anticipated. The personnel were courteous, answered questions promptly and created a professional, caring atmosphere. Won’t go anywhere else for auto window repair.

I originally had an appointment on Saturday and Safelite called me and said they wouldn't be able to replace my window on Saturday because they didn't have the windshield. The appointment was changed to Monday. I had an email confirmation of my appointment and when I walked in the receptionist said she didn't have anything for me. She was rude about it and made it seem like it was my fault for being there. I showed her my email confirmation, she said she didn't have the windshield and I left. I wasted a day of vacation trying to fix my windshield because of their system. Do NOT use Safelite unless you have to and make sure they have the windshield in stock before you take a day off.
