I thoughts from my last experience with Safelite
Review by Anita B. on 29 Oct 2026 review stating I thoughts from my last experience with Safelite This review is my comments that I feel Safelite should be aware of.
When I made my initial appointment with Safelite, I disclosed that I only recently discovered the damage to my windshield. I also disclosed that I was leaving in a few days from when I made the appointment. The attemdant knew that I needed a new windshield.
I tried to get the attendant to give me the local telephone number for the location at 1226 Hendersonville Rd, Asheville, NC 28803. I disclosed that I have done business with them before and was satisfied with those experiences.
So here are my thoughts for my recent experience:
• What was your booking experience like? Knowing that I was having an immediate matter to resolve and also a return customer, the attendant should have provided me the telephone number so I could try and setup the initial appointment directly with them at the shop. I had no option but to take the appointment where Safelite would come to my home.
• Did we meet your expectations? The two technicians were polite and worked quickly to replace the windshield. I asked the lead technician to center the windshield better as it was more to one side than the other. He did right away while I was there.
I did not know that I could immediately test the windshield fluid for the windshield so I waited a day to do this. I discovered that the fluid did not flow to the windshield. I called the 828-274-6794 that was on the receipt. I thought it was the local telephone number. A phone attendant answered the call and I clarified if she was the local Safelite. She said no and so I asked if I could have the local number due to the issue I discovered. She was aware of the time constraints I was dealing with. She said she could not provide the number.
I told her that the day before the appointment the washer fluid operated correctly.
I expressed that I thought it was a kinked fluid line since you could hear the fluid motor operating and the revisor was full. I asked again for the number so I could discuss the problem directly with one of the local technicians. Again, the answer was no. She did get me an appointment at the shop the next day at 2:00 pm.
It took me over an hour to diagnose the issue that the technicians caused.
It took me 45 minutes to drive to the local shop. It would take me an additional 45 minutes to drive back home.
When I got to the shop, the technician who was the person to repair the problem did not even have to lift the hood to tell me what was wrong. A kinked hose that he fixed in the parking lot in less than 30 seconds.
I asked to speak with the operations manager and he said he was the person to discuss any issue with him. He asked what I was looking for.
At this point in time I was upset and told him that Safelite should give me some type of refund for the sloppy workmanship and the time it took me to get it resolved.
At this point, this guy tells me I should have called the local shop as there should have been the local number left for addressing any problem. He also stated that the at home option was available to me. I showed him how my car was over half packed for travel and told him of the time it took me to resolve this problem.
I told him of my experience with Safelite. I used the 828 telephone number on the receipt. I told him exactly what I have written in this comment that now you have.
• Would you recommend Safelite to others? If Safelite can not or will not allow their customers the local number to discuss an issue that was easily resolved, then I can not
recommend Safelite to others.
Safelite should have provided some type of refund for the stress, gas and time it took me to get this matter resolved especially when they are aware that their customer was in a bind caused by Safelite.
Lastly, when writing a review, Safelite should not require the customer to pick options that only Safelite is looking for.
