Safelite Launches Store Manager Essentials Program

Essentials-2

At Safelite, we invest in our people to help them grow both professionally and personally. Store Manager Essentials is a new training program created in partnership with the field and our Learning and Development Team to create role clarity and help store leaders build helpful habits and routines. The four-month program follows a blended-learning approach that includes weekly online content, social collaboration, live sessions, on-the-job practice, and mentor feedback. It offers a consistent learning experience to educate Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers on the leadership behaviors and operational processes that create engagement and drive results.

Store leaders will learn:

  • What Good Looks Like: Clear responsibilities, prioritizing your day and delegating to achieve goals and KPIs

  • Caring for the Team: Behaviors that engage & retain talent and inspire team members to perform at their best

  • Work Order Management: Planning ahead to ensure our customers and our technicians are set up for success

  • Inventory Management: Relationships, preparation, and routines control costs and drive service levels

  • Check In and Check Out: Deliver meaningful coaching conversations and celebrate performance wins

This year’s goal is to win in a way that feels like we’re winning. To work toward this goal, Store Manager Essentials focuses on implementing process, building routines, and creating engagement. Connecting leaders across the country has led to a community who shares insights and best practices beyond the boundaries of their district. We have seen community and accountability make a positive impact, so we’ve added even more touchpoints to build networks and integrate additional leadership involvement and support.

Manager Essentials

Dave Fultz, District Manager – PA, Stan Gaillard, District Manager – UT, Dan Cadigan, Regional Service Director – New England, Josh Craner, Regional Vice President – Southwest, and Regional Vice President Taryn Limpach, California gather for a Leadership Panel.

Our store leaders are the key frontline link to our customers & our technicians, which makes them a critical part of achieving our 2023 priorities and Safelite’s overall success. In addition to providing development for our Store Managers, this program has also become a developmental opportunity for high-performing District Managers and Regional Vice Presidents as they become facilitators and mentors for the Store Managers — and accountability partners for their peers. To measure the success of this program, leaders are tracking movements in their KPIs such as productivity, NPS, job completion, and tech turnover.

“I look forward to our Zoom meetings every week and have met and exchanged email and telephone numbers with store leaders from Connecticut, Texas, and Alabama. With the Store Manager Essentials Program, I have been given a great foundation to build upon. Safelite has set the bar extremely high for giving its leaders the tools and development skills to be the best managers for our employees and customers.” - Josh McCulloch, Assistant Store Manager in Baton Rouge, LA.
